Your Lincoln vehicle is equipped with multiple warning lights that, when illuminated, indicate a problem with your vehicle. These lights usually come on and stay on after you start your car and will be shown in your car’s information display behind the steering wheel.
We have listed some of the most common warning lights below, with descriptions of problems that each light indicates. Please keep in mind, however, that every vehicle is different, and you should always consult your owner’s manual if you have any questions about the warning lights in your vehicle.
Battery – This light indicates that your battery is malfunctioning. Be sure to turn off any unnecessary electronic equipment in your vehicle and bring it in to get looked at right away.
Low Fuel – When this light comes on, you need gas! Don’t wait – go to the nearest gas station right away. (Pro tip – try to never let your gas tank get below a quarter tank. Then you run less of a risk of being stranded somewhere without gas)
Engine Oil – This light indicates low oil pressure. Check your oil level and add as much oil as necessary. Also, be sure to bring your car in to the service center for regular oil changes!
Windshield Wiper Fluid – You are running low on windshield wiper fluid. While this may seem like a low priority, a clean windshield helps to keep you safe by clearing your view of the road.
Low Tire Pressure – Check the air levels in your tires and add as much air as necessary. But don’t over-inflate! Your owner’s manual will have the recommended pressure for each tire.
SRS Airbag – This indicates a malfunction in your airbag system. Bring your car to the service center as soon as possible.
If one of these warning lights comes on in your vehicle, bring it to the West Point Lincoln Service Center and we’ll check it out. You can make an appointment online or give us a call at (281) 596-1151.
